Make Up Policy

To meet the needs and wishes of our members, YMCA classes are tightly scheduled and often full. We ask that you choose your programs carefully as make-up and substitute classes are not possible. Late registration for YMCA Water Fitness and Water Walking is welcomed; however, class fees will not be prorated. Late registration for swim lessons is not recommended.

Services shall be provided without regard to race, religious creed, color, disability, ancestry, national origin, age or sex. Services shall be made accessible to individuals with disabilities through the most practical and economically feasible methods available. The Sewickley Valley YMCA will make every effort to accommodate non-English speaking individuals.

Membership Cards

All members are issued a photo Membership card upon joining. Members are expected to present this card each time they visit the Sewickley Valley YMCA. Members who forget their cards will need to see the Registration Desk attendant for a temporary pass. Fees for Forgotten Cards are $.25 for the first seven (7) visits and $1.00 for all visits there after. Lost cards may be replaced for a $5.00 charge. Membership cards remain the property of the Sewickley Valley YMCA.

Inclement Weather Policy

The Sewickley Valley YMCA takes great pride in maintaining normal operations and class scheduling during periods of inclement weather. Service to our members is a top priority. The Sewickley Valley YMCA will remain open, except in rare cases of a power outage, exceptional snowfall, severe ice, extreme temperatures or treacherous travel conditions. To assure the safety of our members, volunteers and staff, weather related closings and delays will be posted on KDKA TV Storm Center under the heading of Sewickley Valley YMCAWe will no longer follow the Quaker Valley delay schedule. Childcare closings and delays will be listed under the separate heading of Sewickley Valley YMCA Childcare.

Pools will be closed during lightning/thunderstorms and reopen 15 minutes following the last lightning.

Parking

Two parking lots are available for member use. One is located directly in front of the YMCA and the other is above the tennis courts. We strongly encourage our members and guests to park in the upper parking lot to allow those with limited mobility and small children to use the parking spaces in the lower parking lot. Persons requiring use of marked handicap spots must display a handicap plate or tag as issued by the Department of Transportation.

Heritage Valley Health System (formerly Sewickley Valley Hospital) has generously agreed to allow us to park in one of the hospital parking garages from 4:00 pm to 10:30 pm, Monday through Friday.  The garage is located across from the YMCA and must be accessed from Fitch Circle - the entrance on Blackburn Road.  You must display a current YMCA parking sticker.

Parking stickers are required and can be picked up at the Registration Desk or from the Membership Office. Please observe parking signs on the YMCA property and in the immediate vicinity of the YMCA. Vehicles are ticketed by the Police Department for violations.
