The Y offers childcare, youth sports, teen leadership clubs, and programs that give families a chance to have some fun together. There are dozens of ways for you to become involved in this good work.
Volunteer Program
Volunteering at the Sewickley Valley YMCA is beneficial; a victory for everyone. Staff and volunteers team up to provide programs and services to our members, our YMCA and our community.
In fact, in 1844 George Williams was a volunteer who founded the YMCA to fill the need of his community. Last year 282 people of all ages experienced first hand the enjoyment and fulfillment of sharing their time and talents with the YMCA. As a result, the YMCA and the community benefited from 14,505 hours of volunteer service. From swim instructors to trip guides, from supporting staff to running programs, your ability to help, learn and grow is limited only by your interest. How would you like to:
- Work with children and youth
- Learn to lead an exercise class
- Speak to a local men's or women's club
- Design a flower bed
- Guide a fishing trip
- Orient new members to the YMCA facilities and be recognized for your contributions
