Every month, we collect different items for local, nonprofits. We ask that you please join us by bringing the listed items to the Membership Desks. Thank you for helping us make a difference. For more information how you can help a local nonprofit contact Barb Herman at 412-741-9622 ext. 131.

May: Sewickley Food Bank
Bring in any nonperishable item to donate to help the Sewickley Food Bank.

The Sewickley Valley YMCA would like to invite the community to take part in our efforts to give back to the Center for Hope.

June: Healthy snacks
Please help stock the shelves with healthy snacks at the “Just for Kids” Center for Hope pantry.  Healthy snacks will be used to help provide for individuals who are unable to purchase food due to an emergency or crisis.  Donate cereal, peanut butter, crackers, rice cakes, fruit cups and 100% juice boxes.

July: Back to school supplies
It can be exceedingly
difficult for parents to provide all the necessary school supplies for their children.  With your help, we can ensure that children are prepared with the necessary school supplies and start the school year out right!

August: Pancakes
The Center for Hope hosts a free dinner every week for 100-150 people.  Help defray the cost by donating pancake mix and syrup.

Faith in Action Since 2002, Faith in Action has connected senior citizens in our service area with volunteers to help them remain independent and a vital part of the community.  Faith in Action takes the volunteer and community service efforts of the Y to our residents who need rides to doctor appointments, the grocery store, and access to conduct their personal affairs.
