At the Y, we believe healthy living has as much to do with pursuing interests, passions and learning new things as it does with eating healthy and being active.
Older adults at the Sewickley Valley YMCA experience a strong sense of belongingness and a network of friends who provide support for sustained health and wellbeing. Older adults can benefit from socialization and wellness programs that have positive effects on their health. Exercise has proven to promote mental agility in addition to longevity and good health.
The Y offers wellness programs for older adults like water exercise, Yoga, Stretch, Senior Pump It, and wellness coaching. In addition, we offer programs such as Senior Men’s Club, Just For Us Ladies, Sit n’ Stitch, a USO Dance, Wellness Seminars, Medicare Boot Camp, and Bible Study to allow older adults to connect and make new friends.
