Child Care and Day Camp

Between the ages of 3 to 6 years old, children are eager to explore, create, and build independence. The Sewickley Valley YMCA offers two distinct program pathways to support a child’s learning and lifelong well being during this important stage of growth, YMCA Preschool and Montessori Children’s House.

For children ages 3 to 5 years old, the Sewickley YMCA Preschool program offers a nurturing, play-based classroom that supports children in growing confidence and curiosity at their own pace, building the academic and social foundation for kindergarten.

The Sewickley Montessori Children’s House extends through an Accredited Montessori Kindergarten, where children continue learning through exploration and hands-on discovery. This kindergarten year completes the Montessori early childhood cycle and meets state standards, allowing students to transition directly into first grade at any school.

YMCA Preschool

Sewickley Valley YMCA preschool is for children ages 3 to 5 years old. The program emphasizes kindergarten readiness through play-based learning, structured routines, and enrichment opportunities that build a strong foundation for learning. The YMCA Preschool is available as either a part-day, school-year schedule or year-round, full-day option.

Montessori Children’s House:
Preschool through Kindergarten

Montessori Children’s House offered by the Sewickley YMCA is for children ages 3 to 6 years old, with an accredited kindergarten year. The program combines hands-on learning, mixed-age classrooms, and Montessori-trained teachers, offered in both part-day and full-day formats during the school year.

Each pathway to early learning at the YMCA nurtures the whole child—socially, emotionally, physically, and academically—while emphasizing self-confidence, curiosity, and positive relationships with peers and families.
