Responding to a medical emergency took center stage earlier this week when an NFL player collapsed on the field and needed CPR and an AED to save his life. You don't have to be a medical professional to help, and the YMCA is offering a free session so community members can begin to learn the necessary skills to respond appropriately to a medical crisis.
An instructor will guide you through the steps you can take to help during an emergency, such as how and when to get help, what you can do to while waiting for EMS to arrive, and the basics of CPR and AED use. Y
The YMCA wants everyone to have the confidence and skills to help during a crisis, even without formal training. This FREE session is an intro to CPR and Emergency Response and will not provide certification. Our goal is to provide assurance that there are many ways to help and that anyone can make a difference. It's appropriate for anyone 13 and older.
