WELCOME TO THE SEA DRAGON SWIM TEAM!
IMPORTANT PARENT RESOURCES
The YMCA Youth Swim Team is designed to develop our youth as we strive to challenge our advanced swimmers and help grow and nurture our new and developing swimmers, in a competitive and fun atmosphere. We hope to enable all swimmers to reach their highest potential as a person, teammate and athlete and cultivate a lifelong love for swimming.
Communication/Conferencing with Coaches
In efforts to go green, our communications are now paperless. Please make sure that you have confirmed your email address to when you register so that you receive all swim team communications. Often we will also hand out hardcopies of flyers to the children during practice. We also will post flyers on our bulletin boards.
Please do not communicate with coaches during practice sessions, unless it is an emergency. The coaches are responsible for the safety of our children and need to devote their full attention to the swimmers during practice sessions. Coaches will be available for short conferences after practices or contact Ashley Vrancik, Head Coach at firstname.lastname@example.org to set up a meeting to discuss any questions or concerns.
Swim Meet Information
It is your responsibility to arrange transportation to and from all swim meets. Scheduled Swim Meets (between Nov-Feb) – swimmers must attend five meets. All swim meet entry forms will be emailed to the address on file.
Team Practice Schedule
The purpose of the parents’ organization is to provide support and assistance to the swim team, as needed. Much of this support is in the form of the many volunteers needed to work at our home swim meets. There are many jobs available - timers, scorekeepers and concession workers- there is something for everyone. Each family will be asked to provide a volunteer to work in some capacity for a portion of each home meet.
Swim Team Banquet
Please join the Y staff and coaches to celebrate each child’s success during the 2016-17 swim season on Sunday, April 2, 2017.
Pasta, chicken, cake and drinks will be provided. We would like to ask each family to provide a dish for 8-12 people and serving spoon based on the first letter of your last name.
