Childcare Teachers Needed
Childcare department is looking for an individual who is knowledgeable in early childhood development. Who possesses 2 years of documented childcare experience, high school diploma (minimum), Associate or Bachelor preferred in Elem. Education or related field and passion for making a difference in lives of children.
Infant/Toddler Teacher:
• Infants thru 2 years old,
• Hours: 8:00 – 2 pm, 12:30pm -6:30pm, Monday - Friday

Enthusiastic, self-motivated, team player needed within the Aquatic Department
Head Lifeguard
Responsibilities include protecting the safety of all swimmers in the assigned area by preventing accidents and responding to emergencies quickly and efficiently to minimize the danger to those involved.
Ensure the highest standard of safety and cleanliness of the pool tank, pool deck, lifesaving devices and natatorium fixtures, and orientate and instruct lifeguard staff, and provide administrative assistance.
Possess and maintain current certifications in Lifeguarding, CPR for the Health Care Provider or the equivalent, AED, Oxygen Administration and First Aid by a recognized organization.

Lifeguard Coordinator
P/T - Beginning March 2012
Responsibilities include scheduling, coordinating, trainings, and other aquatic job functions.
Must be a minimum of 21 years and possess current CPR for Health Care Provider/Professional Rescuer, Oxygen Administration, First Aid, lifeguard and swim instructor certification by a recognized organization. Preferred candidates will be a certified lifeguard instructor and CPR and First Aid instructor.

The CDF (joining fee) may be paid in full at the time of joining or divided equally over the first three months. The join fee will be divided as follows:
Family and Single Parent Family-$50 per month for the first three months, adult and senior- $42 per month for the first three months.*
Family Membership is defined as two adults and their dependent children (under 18) who reside in the same household and/or children under the age of 26 in college with proper ID.
College is defined as a full time student up to age 26.
New annual and lapsed members must pay the Capital Development Fee, the full annual rate along with a pro-rated amount for the first month of membership.
*Previous members rejoining within a three year time frame may pay a rejoin fee of $100 for family and single parent family and $75 for adult and senior. Rejoining members may pay in full or in three equal monthly installments.
At the Y, no one is turned away for an inability to pay. The Y provides financial assistance to youth, families and individuals who do not have the resources to pay the full membership or program fee. Scholarships are provided for qualifying participants.

We are working with members to make sure the Y becomes or remains a part of your life. It is the policy of the YMCA to provide services for any person who desires to participate.

Guest Policy
The Sewickley Valley YMCA welcomes guests of our members for an enjoyable day at the Y. Non-members (with the exception of A.W.A.Y. members) may visit the Y when accompanied by a member and may visit no more that three (3) times per year. A member may bring no more than two (2) guests per visit. All guests must register at the Registration Desk. All adult guests (ages 18 and over) must present a photo ID. No exceptions.
The Sewickley Valley YMCA reserves the right to limit guests during periods of high usage and times when the addition of non-members could hinder the experience of our members.
Each membership is entitled to four (4) free passes per year. Guest passes may only be obtained during the hours the Membership Office or Registration Desk is open at one half the cost of the daily guest fee.

Family Time
Allow families a place to come together to have a good time; participate in a variety of fun activities; share, communicate and strengthen their relationships; and meet other families. There are regularly scheduled for a Friday evenings and can be either structured or free-flowing. Activities include family swim, roller-skating in the Large Gym, and volunteer opportunities.
Family time at the Y is about giving families as a unit, and as individuals, the opportunities to deepen relationships, develop new skills and interests, improve their health and well-being, and connect to the community.

Skating provides great exercise and an opportunity to get out of the house - plus, it’s not like exercising at the gym... Skating is fun! Beginning Sept. 16 - Dec. 16 you can lace ‘em up and come join the others. Get on the floor and get ready for a great experience. Members, bring your own skates or rents our skates or roller blades. This program is free as a benefit of your membership.

BABY-SITTING
Parents and guardians can utilize our baby-sitting service for up to three hours while they are participating in a Y class, activity or working out in the Y. Our caring staff uses age-appropriate activities and positive guidance for children ages six weeks through six years old. For the safety of your child, parents must remain in the facility and photo identification must be left with staff. Baby-sitting is free as a benefit of your membership.

KIDS GYM

IMAGINATION PLAYGROUND
This class is designated for children ages 3-5. Imagination Playground provides a transformable environment that allows for many types of activities, empowering children to influence the space around them while having fun. SHORT SPORTS
YMCA Short Sport is designed for children ages 3-5 and will teach introductory sports skills, fair play, teamwork and sportsmanship. Each week a new sport will be taught, including: soccer, hockey, gymnastics, basketball and t-ball.

PRESCHOOL GYMNASTICS
Preschool Gymnastics is designed for children ages 3-5. Incorporating the magic of movement through gymnastics with age-appropriate activities that include tumbling, balance, and flexibility. Basic motor skills will be introduced in a fun, exciting environment that allows each child to grow and learn at their own pace as their skills develop. Preschool Gymnastics is held in the Large Gym for 45 minutes.

KINDER MULTI SPORT
Start your child ages 3-5 out with a fun introduction to the most popular sports! This program is designed to introduce preschoolers to the fundamentals and rules of kinder soccer, kinder hockey, and kinder basketball. This program meets for session 1 and 3 in the Large Gym for 45 minutes.

PRESCHOOL STORY TIME
Story time for children ages 2-4 at the Y brings kids and parents together to exercise their imagination and meet new value driven characters. Come on a new adventure every week.

KINDER BASKETBALL
Kids ages 4-6 will run, shoot and score in this introduction to basketball during session one and three. We provide little kid baskets and ball for even more fun. Work on gross motor movement and run, This program is held in the Large Gym for session one and three.

Kindergarten age kids crave interaction, new activities, and attention and want to learn. (If no school and the Y is open, at 2:15 p.m. Kindergarten Fun Days will run.) Parents will pick their children up at the Y.

FAMILY GYM
This program is in the Hunter Gym and provides a special time for parents and their child up to age six to spend quality time together. Parent-Child Swim Classes
Parents learn to work with their children in the water. Parent-Child Swim Classes allows the parent to introduce children to water and learn to explore it safely. Classes are 30 minutes in length and swim diaper is required.
Shrimp/Kipper
Children ages 6-12 months and parents learn basic aquatic safety while enjoying age appropriate activities.
Inia/Perch
Offered to children ages 13 months to 36 months, Inia/Perch will encourage your little one to experiment with independent water exploration. This is also a wonderful way to spend some quality time with your little Perch and some social time with other parents. Your child will be prepared to work directly with an instructor during this session.

YOUTH WINTER CAMP
Winter Camp is a two week, fun mix of indoor activities at Y, like our like summer camp, but colder! Monday-Friday camp will include songs, group activities, swimming, crafts, and games. Winter break is a great time to experience camp, participate in creative programs, and make new friends. Dont miss out a great opportunity, so register at the Y before Monday, Dec. 19.

BUILDING CREATIVE MUSCLES

YOUTH AND GOVERNMENT
The Youth & Government program empowers youth and teens to become critical ethical leaders and responsible citizens through training in the theory and practice of making public policy.
