From Swim Basics (stages 1, 3, and 3) to Swim Strokes (stage 4) YMCA swim programs give children a strong foundation and set them on a path to a lifetime of aquatic enjoyment and well-being. Stage 01: Water Acclimation Preschool
In Stage 1, Water Acclimation, participants develop comfort with underwater exploration. All new children begin at this stage: floating, rolling, blowing bubbles, and exiting the pool are among the foundational skills taught. Held in the warm pool.
