The Sewickley Valley YMCA Toddler Child Care Program offers a safe, structured, and nurturing environment designed specifically for children ages 12–36 months. Full-Day Toddler Child Care
Held year-round, full-day YMCA Toddler Child Care provides a well-rounded, hands-on learning experience with language, art, science, math, and physical activities woven into play-based lessons. Offered 2, 3, or 5 days per week, the program balances indoor and outdoor time, active and quiet play, and rest and meals in a nurturing environment designed for early growth and exploration. Assessments and Support
Parents are essential partners in their child’s experience. Families receive daily updates and weekly photo digests, and are encouraged to participate in family events and visit the classroom anytime. Parent-teacher conferences are offered throughout the year to review developmental milestones and share progress.
To help track growth, the YMCA uses two nationally recognized tools — the Ages & Stages Questionnaire (ASQ-3) and Teaching Strategies GOLD®. These observation-based assessments help teachers understand developmental milestones in areas like communication, movement, and social skills. Results are shared with families regularly, so together we can support each child’s unique needs and celebrate their progress.
